What makes a revision simple versus complex?

 

Simple revisions:

  1. Adjust audio levels for consistency
  2. Correct minor color imbalances
  3. Trim dead space at clip beginnings/ends
  4. Fix small jump cuts
  5. Add basic lower thirds (names/titles)

 

Moderate revisions:

  1. Restructure interview segments for better narrative flow
  2. Create and insert B-roll footage to illustrate key points
  3. Design and implement a cohesive graphics package
  4. Enhance audio with background music and sound effects
  5. Color grade footage for a consistent look

 

Complex revisions:

  1. Completely rewrite and re-edit the narrative structure
  2. Create complex motion graphics or animations to explain concepts
  3. Conduct additional interviews to fill content gaps
  4. Implement advanced visual effects (e.g., green screen compositing)
  5. Record and mix a custom soundtrack
